Getting into the Spirit of Halloween
Halloween is here and it’s time to get into the spirit! Once you reach a certain age, you might start to think you’re too old to go trick-or-treating anymore. I am here to tell you that you are never too old to celebrate and enjoy Halloween.
Halloween is a great holiday for dressing up and going out to have fun with friends. Especially in college, there’s always something going on and something for you to celebrate. So here are some tips to help you get back into the spirit of Halloween.
Decorate Your Dorm Room
Decorating your dorm room or your door is a very popular, inexpensive option for students. Many halls even have door decorating contests and you get a chance to win awesome prizes! Jump on board when you can because you know, as a college student, you will take anything for free. Plus, it’s a way to get into the spirit of Halloween and just have fun with it.
Dress Up for Halloween
Growing up, most of us were not allowed to dress up and wear our costumes to school, but now that you are in college, you have a lot more freedom. So do it! Wear your costumes to class because it’s fun and you get to see the costumes other people come up with.
They usually have costume contests around campus, too. You just have to find them. I participated in one last year and, while I didn’t win, I did get an extra 50 Ram Points, so it was definitely worth it.
Give Out Candy
I have seen students give out candy on Halloween and some teachers will do it as well. Do not leave it outside your door though, because it will be gone very quickly. People usually stand outside their dorm rooms and give out candy to people randomly passing by. It just depends on what you want to do.
Go to the Parties
The organizations that are throwing the parties hang up flyers or post something on Facebook to let you know when and where there will be a party. Check around school and your social media and you are sure to come across one.
Halloween is fun way to let loose during college for a weekend. Especially with midterms just ending, you will definitely be glad for the break.
